With Direct iT’s mission of “delivering enterprise IT management solutions and making them accessible and affordable for small and medium businesses,” my goal by starting this magazine after being in business for 19 years is to educate small to medium-sized business clients in the area of cybersecurity in a way that leaves out technobabble. My desire is to help them keep up with the constant changes in technology and business in general. Ultimately, this magazine will be an act of sharing, which is so important as we seek to create an atmosphere of “community” within our clientele. I want to talk with business owners about how IT can help them grow their business, speaking to them head-on, saying, “Here’s what you need to know.”

I hope that you had a safe and enjoyable July 4th weekend. It was great to see so many people starting to allow themselves to get out and celebrate among each other again. I was thinking about how in 1776, Americans would likely see our computers as magical, unable to understand them. Then, I started thinking about how it has only been a couple years since 2-Factor authentication has been adopted by a majority of businesses. Just five years ago, the average computer user wouldn’t have any clue about Duo or authenticator apps. It goes to show that technology evolves at such a pace that most businesses don’t have the resources or time to research and understand. This is why a magazine like this is so integral to business success.

I am very proud of the fact that this past April, I was able to present to over 1,300 attendees at a conference on the same stage as “Sharks” Kevin O’Leary, Robert Herjavec, and Daymond John. As I’ve learned, the knowledge shared at an event like this from the thought leaders who attend should not be gate-kept. You’ll find some of these influential people and ideas featured in this magazine.

Looking forward to November, here in Massachusetts, when I will be participating in a small to medium-sized business cybersecurity day event along with Robert Herjavec.

Cyber threats are constantly evolving, and I always emphasize the importance of implementing effective security measures to protect companies and their clients from potential breaches. Businesses need to be proactive about identifying and mitigating potential risks. By working with their insurance providers along with their Managed Security Service Providers, they can ensure that their policies cover the right types of incidents and losses.

As a small or medium-sized business, you must have a reliable security company to provide the technical support you need when you need it. Give us a call and let us know what you think of the magazine, and let us show you what fast, friendly, and highly responsive IT support for your business looks like.

I look forward to hearing from you.
