Among these include, according to a press release on Mass.gov, "Continued migration of applications and infrastructure to cloud, third-party on-premise, and Software as a Service (SaaS), "IT Strategy consulting services in support of priority state agency and cross-secretariat initiatives," "Centralized software and IT contract compliance program," and "Business Intelligence (BI) and data analytics support for state agencies."
Also included in the budget is "$4 million for the Small Business Technical Assistance Grant Program," which "builds operational capacity and skills of organizations that are providing technical assistance, education, and access to capital to small businesses," according to Mass.gov.
According to JDSupra.com, the bill seeks to establish a "Cybersecurity and Resiliency Trust Fund" which would earmark $20 million to be used to ensure end-user devices are compliant with security policy.
There are sure to be more IT and cybersecurity initiatives proposed to be added in amendments during the process of submitting and finalizing the budget in the statehouse. We will keep you up to date.
